Chu Ci : Nine Songs : Minor Deity of Fate

Autumn orchids and luxuriant grasses, They grow profusely beneath the hall. Green leaves and pure blossoms, Their fragrant scent lingers around me. A lady has her own fine children; why should Su be sad or distressed! Autumn orchids, evergreen and fresh, With green leaves and purple stems. Full of beauties in the hall, suddenly they make eye contact with me alone. Entering without a word and leaving without farewell, riding on the returning wind with cloud banners in tow. Nothing is sadder than parting while still alive; nothing is happier than newly made friends. Wearing lotus robes and orchid sashes, they come suddenly and vanish in a flash. Dwelling at dusk by the imperial outskirts, my lord, whom do you await amidst the clouds? I travel with you along the Nine Rivers; fierce winds arise and waves surge. I bathe with you in Xianchi, drying your hair on the southern slope of the sun. Looking for the fair one who has not yet come, facing the wind and singing in a daze. A carriage with a hole-shaped canopy and emerald banners, ascending to the nine heavens to touch the comet's tail. Raising his long sword and protecting the young and virtuous, Su alone is fit to be a just ruler for the people.
